Damage Moles can Cause
Yard Damage
Moles can cause large amounts of damage to both plants and grass in your yard due to the burrowing and uprooting. Large mounds of dirt will be pushed up covering spots of grass. In those places the grass will die and need to be re-seeded. The more the moles expand their hunting and traveling tunnels the more of your yard you lose.
Structural Damage
Moles are often responsible for the breakdown of cement pad foundations, pavers, retaining walls and cement walkways. As the moles tunnel under these structures removing material and earth from underneath, it causes them to crack, brake and collapse over time. The cost of repair to these structures is significantly greater than simply dealing with the mole issue itself.
Health Risks Moles can Cause
Joint Damage
With moles digging sometimes over one hundred feet of tunnels in one yard it is not hard to imagine the potential to twist an ankle or sprain a knee. Playing sports or having pets running around in those places will only increase the probability that an injury may occur. If you are aware of these tripping hazards in your yard please make sure to walk with caution.
